Avocado oil

All oils, yes, including coconut and olive oils, are the cause of significant decrease in endothelial function. What does that mean? The cells that line the interior surface of blood and lymphatic vessels are called the endothelium. When these cells are injured and become inflamed, atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease, chronic diseases that can cause heart attack or stroke, are sure to follow.


Have you noticed that you feel worse after eating certain vegetables, such as bell peppers, eggplant, or tomatoes. I thought that vegetables were supposed to be good you.

Unwanted Thoughts

“That cake looks good!” is a pretty common unwanted thought for me. And it never seems to go away. It’s cake, cake, on the brain all the time. I joke a little, but I think it’s safe to say we all struggle with unwanted thoughts from time to time. Some are merely annoying but some very serious.

Alcohol and Diabetes

Eat cake. Have a drink. Manage your diabetes? Wouldn’t that be nice! Well, good news, researchers in Denmark have reported that drinking three to four times a week is linked with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes; as opposed to never drinking.

You can buy happiness

Money can’t buy happiness, so we’ve been told. Depending on how much money you have you may beg to differ! Not having enough money causes stress as debt increases and having an excess of money brings with it fear of isolation and being taken advantage of.

The Sad Fall of Resveratrol

So we all were tempted to believe when we heard about resveratrol, a component of red wine, which was supposed to explain why French people could eat high fat diets and not succumb to heart disease. So tempted by this idea were we that people started taking supplements of resveratrol at 50 times the amount that would have come in a glass of wine at dinner.
